By Today, Google has begun rolling out the updated version of Android Kitkat, which is 4.4.3. Just WOW ! However, recently it has been only for Nexus 5 and its new siblings. The company has displayed official factory images on its website.
Upgrade to Android 4.4.3
The update does not have any different features. It is about to solve some internal bugs and overall security levels of the OS.
Let's check, how to install new OS
step by step..
Download the Required Files :-
1. https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images Download Android 4.4.3 factory image for your devices.
2. Now, you need to download required ADB/Fastboot files, which can be found from below links.
Windows – Download
Mac – Download
Linux – Download
Booting into Fastboot :-
3. Make one folder on your desktop and extract the ADB/Fasrboot ZIP file inside that folder. For Windows users, there is a need to use the command prompt to navigate that folder. Select "Open command window here" after right clicking on the folder.
Mac and Linux users, With using "cd desktop/android" command open terminal and navigate it.
4. Now, Reboot your phone into Bootloader mode. This process is different from one device to another. In nexus 7, You will need to switch off the mobile and then press volume down plus power button.
For Nexus 5 and 4, switch off the device, and concurrently press the Volume up + Volume down + Power button. This will get you into Bootloader mode.
Setting Everything Up :-
5. Now, you need to make sure that your device is detected by your PC with using following command.
Mac users, First prefix a “./” before fastboot/ADB command issued.
6. If you have not done with an above command, then unlock the bootloader with the help of following command. Skip to the next step if the bootloader on your Nexus is already unlocked.
Fastboot oem Unlock :-
Remember to press the volume up and down button on your mobile to confirm the bootloader unlocking process. After completing all above process Nexus will automatically reboot into Android. Repeat 4 number step to boot the device back in bootloader mode.
Installation :-
7. Extract all contents inside the same folder which you created in step 3.
8. Last, in the command prompt or terminal window which we had been open in 3rd step, type in the name of the edited file then press enter.
./flash-all.sh :-
If you get not found error, then you need to open the file and prefix a"./" before all fastboot commands.
For Windows User: You need to either double-click on the flash-all.bat file or type name in the command prompt window and then press enter.
Once the process is complete, your device automatically starts to reboot into Android OS. First boot process will take some time as an operating system needs to recreate the cache files for all your by-default games and apps.
